Whatsapp Is About To Ban Millions of Users & You're Probably One Of Them

Whatsapp is basically the best thing that has ever happened to phones. It's used by millions of people to communicate on their phones and we're pretty sure we would be lost without it. It has over a billion active users, with 42 billion messages and over 250 million videos being handled every day. Let's just take a moment to consider those insane numbers!

But Whatsapp are pulling what can only be described as a dick move and have decided to ban millions of their current users. They have decided to stop making the app available to certain phones which they consider outdated. These include the Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1 and Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7.1 and all Blackberrys.

The company released a statement saying “This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp."

Their heartfelt advice to us broke students was to upgrade our phones. Well if they'll pay for my new phone, I'll get on that ASAP. "If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.”
