Singing contests are no strangers to scandal - if it's not one 'act' being a diva then it's another miming through a song! Well, a new Britain's Got Talent miming scandal has evolved and it involves St Patrick’s primary school from Drumgreenagh in County Down.
The school's choir won the hearts of the judges and audiences on Saturday night and entered Monday night's semi-final. The kids opened the Monday night show with Katy Perry’s "Roar" but moments before the choir started to sing Ant & Dec stormed onto the stage to reveal a gaff. Apparently it the usual story of "live television" and "technical difficulties" but the music began to play and the children were not moving their mouths. Here's the awkward 'mime' moment in full:
Britain's Got Talent released a statement after the show telling Radiotimes:
"A technical glitch meant that the wrong song was played at the start of St Patrick’s Junior Choir performance as well as some vocals recorded during a rehearsal from them.The choir did not mime and we are very proud of their performance.”
