According to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal, Facebook has a standalone amera app in development at the moment. It sounds like the new app will be a blend of Snapchat and Periscope features, including a camera that allows photos to be uploaded directly to the users own profile, as well as software that enables live streaming.
In recent months, Facebook has seen a decline in popularity with the emergence and growth of apps like Snapchat. Users are spending less time online and posting less frequently- with this new app it is hoped that users will be encouraged to share more videos and pictures on their profiles, increasing on- site activity once again.
