Gal Gadot Threatens To Leave Wonder Woman Unless Producer Is Sacked

Gal Gadot, who is the spearhead of DC Comics most successful film project Wonder Woman, is threatening to leave the franchise if producer Brett Ratner is involved in the sequel. Ratner's production company Rat-Pac Dune co-financed the first film with Warner Brothers.

Gadot recently  backed out of a dinner honouring Ratner, where she was due to present him with an award.

Ratner has been the subject of allegations that the sexually harassed a number of actresses during his career including Ellen Page and Olivia Munn. In late October 2017, a former talent agent employee accused Ratner of rape.

According to Page 6 the Israeli actress will only sign for the sequel if Ratner is not involved in the project:

Brett made a lot of money from the success of ‘Wonder Woman,’ thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.

The source added of Israeli-born Gadot, “She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women."
