You gotta love when new figures for the Irish average weekly wage comes out, as most people reading this probably don't earn anywhere near that amount. And will we ever? It's a question worth asking, considering the housing crisis in Dublin and the rising cost of living.
In the Earnings and Labour Costs Quarterly release, published by the Central Statistics Office on Monday, the average weekly earnings in Ireland in Oct - Dec 2016 were €716. That's €22.16 per hour for all of you playing at home, crying into your dismal paycheck.
But it's not all bad: we're earning €0.24 an hour more than last year.
So who's earning the most? Information and Communication workers -cough Facebook and Twitter-. And the lowest? Peeps in the Accommodation and Food services sector.
It's sad too because people who are saving lives in the Health sector have got 3% less every week in the last year.
It definitely leaves you wondering about who should get paid what and the disparity in wages. And it also makes young people worry about the future too.
Tell us: are you concerned about your future earning potential?
