25 Degree Heatwave Caused By Exam Season, Met Éireann Confirms

Sun worshippers rejoiced today when Met Éireann delivered some great weather news! For those of you who don't know, temperatures this week are set to rise above 21 degrees. The "good weather" will be at its best from Wednesday onwards with Friday's temperatures expected to reach a whopping 23 degrees - get the sunblock out! The midlands and northwest are expected to experience the hottest conditions. There's a slight problem though...

It's great news for non-student Ireland but has left both third level and secondary school students sweating buckets indoors. With many college goers still sitting exams, and Leaving and Junior Cert students stuck inside studying, it's no surprise the sun is going to shine. Will it last past the exams? Of course not.

Students are left to decide between rare sunshine and possibly repeating an exam to sitting inside and missing summer altogether.  What long term impact will this sudden change have on Irish life and student morale? We have yet to hear from The Department of Education and their response to the complex situation that the "good weather" has delivered.
