It happens. You and your beau are doing so well, so very much in love... then one of you a) studies abroad, b) goes on placement c) transfers college or d) moves back home. You don't want to break up, but you can't stand not being in the same physical space as them. You are separated by time, space and a faulty WiFi connection. Life now sucks, or does it? You know what they say, every silver lined cloud has a dark murky grey centre. Time to embrace all the inevitabilities.

You really do not need to look after yourself. You are neither trying to attract a new suitor nor do you have to look good to impress your suitor. Only look good for yourself. Not that you need to look good to impress!

You have no one to impress because you’re sitting alone in your room reading articles online.

You get all the blankets to yourself and no one can complain about it!

There’s no one to cuddle up to…blankets and hot water bottles can only do so much.

You have so much time to finish all your college assignments!

You have nothing to do but your college assignments.

You can hang out with all your girlfriends and have a girls night out!

You are the world’s worst wing woman because you can’t flirt with the guy’s friend and you can’t help the little voice in your head that is judging everyone around you.

You get all the food! No sharing! If they hate something that you love you can have that all the time!

You get all the food…and now must go running.

When you do get to meet up with your significant other everything is really romantic and special!

You build up your meet ups in your head and when reality doesn't match expectations you fight :(

You can still talk all the time over Skype, Viber or Google Hangouts! All you need in this internet!

You lose your absolute shit when the wifi isn't working.

Being independent and self-reliant!

Seeing couples everywhere...and hating them all

Your free time is spent doing whatever it is you want to do! No answering to anyone!
