CAO: The Courses With The Biggest Increase In Points Have Been Revealed

The first round of CAO offers has gone live and two-thirds of students are expected to get their first offer.

Overall, courses liked Medicine, typically popular and high in points value, have remained the same whereas STEM subjects (Chemistry, computer, and information technology science), popular in recent years, have fluctuated across the board. Teaching courses continue to rise.

The most tasking element for any Leaving Cert student is choosing their undergraduate course and with the 2018 points being revealed today, here's what students entering their Leaving Cert can expect to need in order to nab their dream course in 2019:

Arts

National Universty Of Ireland (NUIG) (Arts (Public and Social Policy): up 30 points to 346.

University College Dublin: Up by 55 points to 381 due to  the separation of Arts, Humanities, and Social Science.

Maynooth University: Up by 14 points to 499.

Mary Immaculate College Limerick: Up by 8 points to 474.

Dublin City University: Up by 2 points to 464.

Business

St. Angela's College (Nutrition, Food, and Business Management): up by 96 points to 339

Engineering

University College Dublin: Up 20 points to 510.

Trinity College Dublin: Up 20 points to 488.

NUI Galway: Up 20 points to 432.

Psychology

Waterford Institute of Technology: up 33 points to 390.

Nursing

University College Cork: Up by 2 points to 445.

University College Dublin: Up by 2 points to 413.

University of Limerick: Up by 12 points to 452.
