The 11 Worst Things About Being An Optimist

Optimists get a lot of hate for being their happy selves. People don't want to hear our "everything is going to be fine" spiel all the time. Non-optimists think we're condescending, naive and dumb. Optimists are poor misunderstood creatures and find life just as hard as everyone else, you're all just jealous that we take it better than the rest of you.

1) They always look for the best in everyone.

Someone could have murdered a dozen people, but they let a pedestrian cross in front of their car - that's soooo nice of them.

2) Which means they get shit on all the time.

We have such high expectations for people and we never expect them to let us down because, y'know, we look for the best in people, and now you've ruined our night, thanks very much.

3) They annoy all their friends with their positive attitude.

"Come on guys! We can do this! Lets go! Team work!" Sometimes it's just too much for their little pessimistic head.

4) People always want to destroy their optimism.

Why do people get enjoyment out of trying to "prove" that we aren't always happy? Fuck off.

5) People think they're naive.

Nope. We're not naive. We know the same amount about the world as you, we just see it in a better light than you. Grumpy git.

6) They get stuck in dead-end projects because they think they can do it.

I can do it! Determination.

7) When things go wrong it hits them really hard.

We put so much faith and trust into people and projects that when things go ass-ways-up we just never expected it. Ouch.

8) They can be bragging bitches sometimes.

"AH! I TOLD YOU WE'D BE ABLE TO DO IT! YOU PESSIMISTIC BOLLOCKS!" No, we're not boastful at all.

9) People always expect them to be in the best mood.

Everyone has bad days and that's okay. But just because we're forever the optimist we're not allowed to be grumpy?

10) People can think they're a condensing bitch.

We don't like to sound like an obnoxious American (no offence) but sometimes our motivation speeches don't fly very well.

11) People assume they've had an easy life because they're so positive.

We deal with heartbreak and misery just like everyone else, we just get over it quicker you over dramatic shits.
