It has just been announced that former Manchester United and Real Madrid player David Beckham has launched a new Major League Soccer team based in Miami.
The team has been created by a deal involving his investment group and the US professional soccer league. The rumours of Beckham wanting to buy into a franchise have been rife since his playing time stateside was coming to an end.
If local officials approve an agreement on the location of a stadium in Florida later this year, it is understood the team could start playing in 2016.
