Electric Picnic Food Survival Guide

If you happen to be one of the lucky ticket holders, braving the elements this weekend ie. Electric Picnic, make sure you leave enough room in your bag for essential food supplies guaranteed to get you through (judging how my past EP adventures have gone).....well almost anything and everything!

Here are my top ten super supplies. Aiding hangovers to a bare minimum whilst saving you a buck or two when down there!

1. WATER

Kind of a no-brainer really.... Hugely important to keep hydrated over the next 3 days! Dehydration can cause Lethargy, headaches, nausea, and all sorts of unpleasantness. Drink water consistently throughout the day rather than downing 1.5 litres before hitting the sack!

2. BANANAS

Packed with potassium, a key component lost while pumping alcohol into your body! A banana will leave you feeling less tired and less nauseous, so you'll end up seeing more of the picnic and less of your tent!

3. APPLES

Easy to pack without bruising, also naturally speeds up the detoxing process in the body.

4. ALMONDS

Full of protein, brilliant snack, curbs hunger pangs and most of all they reduce hangover effects to a minimum. Yup! They prevent toxins from entering into your blood! Happy days!

5. BOILED EGGS

If you get a chance before you leave to boil a few eggs, please do! They contain a chemical which quickly cleans up little leftover nasties in the body, which will help to reduce self-inflicted pain! Just remember to keep them locked up tight somewhere.....the smell itself may harm your delicate condition!

6. AVOCADO

Another cleansing food for you, full of antioxidants that will help clean out the bloodstream quicker than any other food substance!

7. TINNED TUNA AND BEANS

Don't forget to buy the ring-pull assortment (yes. I know they're 10 cent extra)

Both can be eaten cold and straight from the tin. Tuna, if you can stomach it, is rich in minerals, great for nurturing a hangover and replenishing the body! Tinned beans of course are full of protein, which is gonna fill you up and keep your energy levels high!

8. PITTA BREAD

The only type of bread that'll keep without mushing in your bag. Plus you're gonna need some sort of soakage and accompaniment for all these other ingredients you're bringing! For example.....egg on bread, avocado pittas, banana and peanut butter pitta, beans on pitta etc etc.....the list is endless!

9. PEANUT BUTTER

Don't forget to buy the plastic jar kind otherwise you won't be able to bring it in, but peanut butter could be a little life saver for you? It's an energy booster, full of protein and essential nutrients! Slap a bit on some apple slices.....mmmmm nom nom!

10. CEREAL BARS

Handy little number. Instant Brekkie/Snack. Any kind will do. Although if you can pick up any with strawberries in them, do! Strawberries are said to aid short-term memory loss! May come in handy, whilst reminiscing about a certain rave in the woods......
