Goodbye Proscrastination, Hello Dollar Bills: 11 Simple Ways to Make Money Online

I've been there, many many times myself. It's a Monday night. You're panned out in front of your laptop, sadly thinking about your finances or indeed, lack thereof, all the while sponging off someone else's Netflix account. Hey, I ain't bloody judging. What I actually am here to do is to make your somewhat far-fetched dreams of making a living via the internet become a reality. Yes, that's right, you can actually fund your social life via your very favourite piece of electrical equipment. I'm as shocked as you are, frankly. Here's how to do it....

1) Cashback sites, come at me...

Hold on a second, you're telling me I can earn money while spending money? Stop the presses, I think I've found myself a new career path. Cashback sites such as Swagbucks, MyPoints, and Quidco allow you to earn rewards by linking through to online shopping sites via their sites.

Some of these sites allow you to earn points that can then be exchanged for gifts while others pay you in cash depending on what it is that you buy. The cashback you earn is worked out in a percentage so, for example, if you spend 50 big ones and the cashback offer is 5%, then you'll earn 2.50 in cash on that purchase. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

2) Survey sites, because surely answering a few questions is acceptable for a cash reward.

It sounds too good to be true, agreed, but a survey that takes just minutes to fill in could genuinely earn you cold hard cash. Sure, there are some snoozefest worthy surveys that even your Granny would struggle to find interesting, but there's a huge scope and subject matter available, so you can sort through them and find some that actually interest you. From sports to politics, to fashion and health, no stone needs be left unturned.

Although the money received for these surveys isn't the best, if you actually have the patience to sit there and fill out a few in one go, there can be decent money to be made and the actual work isn't exactly all consuming either. Ask away, I say...

3) Online Casinos are simply a click away...

Now, before you come at me with the whole 'gambling is a mug's game' argument, bear this in mind: the money isn't made by opening up your favourite slot game at your preferred online casino. The money-making process comes into its own through the promotions and offers on hand, easy as that.

Every day, different online casinos across the world offer players the chance to earn free spins or to receive free cash to play on their games, the choice out there is literally endless. Yes, they often require players to play through the free games or funds, but there's nothing to lose and the potential payout is huge. You have been warned, though, it's very addictive...

4) Sportsbetting anyone?

For the sports fanatics among you, these sites work much the same way as online casinos. In an attempt to attract more punters to their sites, they release offers and promotions, pretty much on a daily basis. More often than not, these are linked to sporting events and whatnot,  the likes of which give punters the chance to earn real cash.

What exactly does all of this mean? Well, take this for example: enhanced odds on a specific sports match or what about giving punters a certain amount of free cash if they sign up as a newbie? These guys are pretty smart when it comes to keeping old customers happy too, with cash rewards and special offers to play for, all the while keeping people coming back for more. Win big here and you're pretty much sorted, just saying.

5) Ebay never fails to fail.

Ahhh Ebay, one of the oldest and most trusted methods of making money online for what feels like years at this stage (upon deep investigation, Ebay has been on the go for 21 YEARS :O). Let's be honest here, we've all sat in our bedrooms frantically looking around for unwanted things to sell the week before payday (and no, your brother doesn't count, just FYI).

Is there a sweeter setup than ridding your room of old junk while gaining some nice cash dollars in the process? No, I think you'll find that that is the perfect setup really, all things considered.

6) Online Poker is a good option for the daredevils among you...

You're probably just sitting here thinking that online poker works in much the same way as an online casino when it comes to getting some cash flow. Well honestly, you'd be a little wrong because as it turns out, there is a method to this madness.

That method? The freeroll tournaments. Freeroll tournaments, explained in simpler terms, are when players can enter for a no buy-in fee but there's still an opportunity to win either a cash prize or a ticket to a more prestigious tournament with larger cash prizes. It's about earning money whilst playing poker, which, if you ask me, sounds like a pretty sweet deal overall. What could possibly beat that?

7) Gumtree is always an old reliable.

If you think of Ebay as somewhere to sell unwanted items, then Gumtree takes it to a more flexible and mainly, localised level. Users can advertise either unwanted goods or offer a specific service on the site. Want to sell off old clothes? No problem. Need help with your maths tutorial? Done. Want rid of your old wardrobe? No issues my little pal. Super simple to use, super varied and very easy to narrow down, location wise, Gumtree has got it all AND more.

8) Why not try your hand at t-shirt design?

Yes, I'm well aware that by nature, this very idea is retro and some might say, outdated, but don't knock it 'til you try it, as they say.

Think about some of the most iconic T-shirts in the world, the 'I ❤️‍NY' one, for example. The idea for this is so basic and straightforward at its core, but ultimately, it works. Think about this when you're creating your own masterpiece and you'll just clean up  on the cash dollar in zip time...

9) Try file sharing, you might be pleasantly surprised by how easy it is.

This may not be such an obvious or indeed, well-known method of making money, but it is possible to earn money by sharing files online. Sites such as Rapidgator, Filebucks, and Ziddu give users the chance to earn money by uploading or downloading files. Seriously, it's that simple.

It all probably seems a little too good to be true. A bit of common sense is obviously required when file sharing, but if you're happy to plod away at this for a few hours every once in a while, then you're on a fast track to some spare pocket change, no problem whatsoever.

10) Have a look around some 'get paid to' sites.

Everyone is aware of the term “handyman” (at least, I hope everyone's heard of the term handyman...) and there are numerous ways of just taking that role and bringing it into the online market place. Nowadays, there's literally a site and a need for jobs matching pretty much every description possible. This could be anything from sites that ask you to try out a new product to sites that give you feedback on a certain product. The list is endless, so you're bound to find something that meets your needs or skill sets in there somewhere.

11) Lastly, why not try becoming a Microworker?

If you've ever worked in an office job that almost bored you to tears, then you can surely appreciate the fact that there are hundreds of small but time-consuming little jobs out there just waiting to be completed by an individual as willing and, let's face it, as in need as you. Before the internet came into its own, companies had to hire people directly or just spread the workload out among their workforce, but that's no longer necessary. Try Microworker and get organising like your next night out depends on it (well, let's be realistic here, it probably does...).

The big bad world of the internet has changed the face of that. Now, companies can outsource the little jobs that nobody really wants to do. Whether it's updating a contact list, editing some mundane documents, or just sorting out Excel files into relevance order, there are more than enough mundance little tasks out there to keep you fed, temporarily, at the very least...
