One Of Dublin's Favourite Drinking Spots To Close In July

It has been announced that one of Dublin's most popular summer drinking spots - the cricket pitches surrounding the Pav in Trinity - is set to close for the majority of July.

As reported in the University Times, TCD's Campus Maintenance Manager stated in an email to staff and students that the pitches would be closed for "essential maintenance works" from July 3rd. The maintenance works are scheduled to take around four weeks.

While the Pav itself will still be open, over the summer the majority of Pav attendees sprawl on the pitches and now, with this no longer an option, one imagines this will result in can-thirsty hoards being cast into the streets and forced to source some other open air patch of land in the middle of town amenable to people drinking ungodly amounts of budget Czech lager.

One imagines the canal is going to have some issue trying to accommodate all this extra traffic.
