Sexism: A Man's Perspective

So, I'm a guy. I know next to nothing about the experience of sexism and how it affects a woman's daily life. I certainly won't pretend to.

For men sexism is often brushed under the table as a joke-inspiring detail of modern life, the negative effect of which is rarely comprehended by us.

Today as I scrolled down my Newsfeed a video cropped up that for me was the closet thing to doning heels and experiencing a day in the life of a young woman today. I know lads reading this must think I'm making a big deal out of something that's not even a problem and that's understandable, I would probably have said the same. But give it a watch and you might be surprised by how your perspective is changed.

The ten minute video is a French short film with English subtitles by director Eléonore Pourrait. It's called Oppressed Majority and depicts a man exposed to sexism and sexual violence in a society ruled by women.
