The Lies Students Tell Themselves

As students, we all try to tell ourselves we're doing the right thing. But sometimes, going for one more pint is definitely not the right thing to do, although you may convince yourself it is. Here are the lies students tell themselves...

I'll do it tomorrow

You won't. Unless you have zero plans for tomorrow and are looking for something to do.

I'm too tired

Could be the case, but it's probably because you went out and partied too much.

I don't have any work to do

A lie I've told myself many times. You definitely do have work to do, it's just easier not to ask anyone about it. Or, your college reading list has just become non-existent.

Only one more episode

If you're watching a series and you have more than three episodes left, don't even bother making plans for the next few hours. Class will have to wait.

I'm not hungover

You probably are, realistically.

No more takeaways

Maybe for the rest of this week, if you order on a Sunday.... Monday's a new week, right?

I'm not going out tonight

Peer pressure is likely to become a problem here. BUT you're in college, so unless you have a 9am tomorrow morning, go out and go mental.

I don't need to take notes

Trust me, you do. You may remember it for a week, but you won't remember it come exam time.
