You might fancy the pants off them, you might be delighted with yourself that you're finally kissing this person on a semi regular basis - but getting into a relationship is a totally different ball game. There are a few things you need to get out of the way first, not so fast sparky.
The catholic church will not agree with me but it's the 21st century and our generation are a lot more open than previous ones, with the exception of the hippies, obviously. There's no point, in my eyes, dating someone for x amount of time, then becoming engaged and waiting until the night of your wedding to do the deed, sex is massively important, you better know that you're going to enjoy yourself. More important still, is that you need to know your partner enjoys it as much as you do and doesn't see it as a chore...
Spend time away from each other
Honeymoon periods are great and there's rarely any trouble but you still need to recognise that you can't spend every waking hour with each other. Spending time apart can also help show you that the other person is happy to have some independent time and also show you that they aren't a raging stalker who can't go without knowing where you are at all times.
It's probably the norm these days to follow a hook up or meeting someone online with excessive contact. whether it's plain old texting, tinder, whatsapp or facebook, chances are you will be in a text based relationship for the first part of you seeing someone. It'll probably become a daily thing, and people become a whole lot more confident behind a keyboard so just bear that in mind.
Go down on each other
How much can you really know about someone if you haven't been down on them?
Meet their friends
Their friends know them better than anyone and you don't really want to alienate them from your friends either. Friends and family are extremely important in a relationship. They are both protective entities and it will stand to you if you win them over...
Hit the cinema
A tried and tested date but one you should not go forward without....does she try the old stretch move to put her arm behind you, does he cut a hole in the bottom of the popcorn...who knows...oh and film choice too. Will either of you cave and go to an action or rom com?...how far are you willing to go?
Live out a fantasy
Doesn't necessarily have to be a sexual one but it's highly probable it will be. Think of something that you really want to do with someone and put it (or them ;)) on the table. I reckon it's best if they are aware that you have a kinky side or that there's something special you've wanted to do with someone for a good while.
Are they rude to waiters and waitresses. Are you? Dinner can show you how your new squeeze reacts in a public space. Maybe they eat in a weird way, do they have trouble sharing ala Joey Tribiani?
