The folks WatchCut have been experimenting with their series entitled, '100 Years of Beauty' for over two years now. The series uses historical references to paint a picture of women's beauty over the past century.
This video takes a look at Irish beauty over the past century and takes into account the political, economic and cultural issues that were effecting Irish women at the time. We see this immediately when the video splits between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland from the 1920s. From here, it brings us through the years showing the various make up and hairstyles that Irish women have considered fashionable.
The video is a beautiful visual account of Irish style throughout the years and is really remarkable to watch.
