Pop Sensation Cher Wants To Save Irish Legend Fungie From Troubled Waters

It's the news story we never thought we'd be writing. Today pop sensation and Oscar winner Cher has publicly declared her support to thousands of dolphins swimming through the Irish sea. The Green Party legislative researcher Sinead Mercier tweeted to Cher that our aquatic wildlife is in danger from offshore oil and gas drilling. Mercier asked Cher to tweet Taoiseach Leo Varadkar this important message:

According to Mercier's research, Ireland has over 250,000 bottlenose dolphins that visit the Irish coast every summer. To stop these mammals from being harmed, and to limit Ireland's overall impact on a changing climate, the Green Party are calling on Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to support the Climate Emergency bill.

Cher, the Moonstruck star, is known for being an activist and didn't shy away from sharing her support for the campaign by tweeting #HELLTOTHEYES. Her support may help Irish hero Fungie who made his debut in 1983 in Irish waters and alongside his friends has become a hero of Dingle harbour and a crucial part of our ecosystem.

Of course, we were not the only ones enamored by this random exchange:
