Hazel Chu Thanks Ireland Simpsons Fans Meme Account For Helping Her Get Elected

Green party candidate Hazel Chu has been the biggest success story of this year's local elections. Hazel topped the poll in the Pembroke area with more than 2,000 votes above the quota. Following her victory, Hazel took to Twitter to thank those who helped to make it happen. She thanked the 3-12 year olds whos who came up with rhymes that influenced their parent's vote and gave special recognition to none other than Ireland's greatest memes account, the Irish Simpsons Fan page.

How could I forget @iresimpsonsfans! You folks probably got half my vote for me.

And all the 3-12 yr olds who made songs, rhymes, influenced their parents to vote for me. You are the next leaders in the country, call me & I'll canvass for you!

The Ireland Simpsons Fans have become a leading authority for the funniest takes on Irish culture, breaking news and Irish politics.
