2017 sees wine production at its' lowest since the 1950s and the start of the 60s. The Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) has published data which reveals that production levels have fallen dramatically low in Spain, France, Germany and Italy,
Considering Italy, France and Spain are the world's leading wine producers, it's worth taking notice of the significant wine drop. Around the world, production levels have fallen by 8.2% compared to 2016.
Still, wine lovers can breath a sigh of relief as there is enough wine left in the world to go round. This year, the world wine production is said to be 246.7 million hectolitres which is a lot considering 1 hectolitre = 100 litres.

The decrease in production could see a soar in prices and problems for small producers of wine around the world.
