Snapchat's New 'Snap Map' Feature Allows Your Friends To See Your Location

Snapchat's New 'Snap Map' Feature Allows Your Friends To See Your Location

Big Brother is getting seriously real with Snapchat's newest update. 'Snap Map' allows you to share your location with friends once your turn on the option in settings.

You do this is by pinching your two fingers on the screen to zoom out and the map will appear. Other friends who've allowed others to see their Snap Map will appear on a map of the world in Bitmoji form. There are then three options on who you can share it with; you can individually select friends, choose all friends or choose 'Ghost Mode'. (no one can see your location)

The app will only show your location while you're in the app itself, so there's no need to worry about background tracking. If you haven't been active for a few hours your Bitmoji will disappear from the map and then will re-appear once you log back on.

Another really cool new feature is heat zones. They appear when you're in an area where a lot of snaps are being taken. The new features should be rolling out in the next update of the app.

It looks like Snapchat is doing what they can to keep up with their rival app Instagram but is it working?
